This privacy policy explains how ColorBuddy ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
We collect information you provide when you sign in through external authentication providers (Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In):
- Email address
- Authentication provider identifier
1.2 Profile Information
When you set up and customise your profile within the app:
- Username (chosen by you)
- Avatar image (uploaded by you, imported from Google, or auto-generated initials)
1.3 Library Content
Information you create about your coloring book collection:
- Book titles, authors, and ISBNs
- Book cover images
- Page numbers and coloring progress data
1.4 Buddy Color Content
Information related to group coloring activities:
- Buddy color group titles and settings
- Page image submissions linked to group activities
- Participation and reveal status
1.5 Preferences
We store your onboarding preferences (such as your interest in buddy colors, library features, or both) to personalise your experience.
1.6 Analytics and Crash Reporting
We use Firebase, a Google service, to help us improve the app and fix bugs:
- Firebase Analytics collects anonymous app usage data (such as screen views and feature usage events) to help us understand how the app is used and where to focus improvements.
- Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports and non-fatal error logs to help us identify and fix bugs quickly.
- Data collected includes: anonymous usage events, crash logs, device model, and operating system version.
- No advertising identifiers are collected.
- Analytics data is not linked to your personal identity — it is aggregated and anonymous.
1.7 What We Do NOT Collect
We want to be transparent about what we do not collect:
- We do not collect device information beyond what is included in crash reports (see 1.6)
- We do not serve advertisements or use ad network SDKs
- We do not sell or share analytics data with third parties for marketing
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 Provide Core Services
- To create and manage your account
- To store and sync your coloring book library across devices
- To enable buddy color group activities (creating, joining, submitting, and revealing)
- To process in-app purchases and manage your subscription status

3.1 We Do Not Sell Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
3.2 Service Providers
We use the following third-party service providers to operate our app:
- Supabase — cloud infrastructure provider (database, file storage, authentication, and serverless functions). Your data is stored on Supabase-managed infrastructure.
- Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In — authentication providers for account creation and login.
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase and subscription management. RevenueCat processes purchase transactions and manages subscription status.
- Firebase (Google) — crash reporting and anonymous usage analytics. Firebase collects anonymous usage events and crash data to help us improve the app.
We do not share your data with any advertising networks or other third parties beyond those listed above.
3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law or if we believe such action is necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect and defend our rights or property
- Prevent fraud or security issues
- Protect the personal safety of users
4. Data Security
4.1 Encryption
- Data in transit is encrypted using industry-standard TLS protocols
- Authentication is handled securely through Google and Apple's established sign-in services
- Your data is protected by Supabase's built-in security infrastructure, including row-level security policies
4.2 Access Controls
- Your account data is only accessible to you when authenticated
- Row-level security policies ensure users can only access their own data and data shared with them through buddy color groups
4.3 Data Retention
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active
- You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time
- Upon account deletion, your personal data, library content, and buddy color submissions are permanently removed

5.1 Access and Control
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Request a copy of your data
5.2 Account Deletion
You can delete your account through the app settings. Upon deletion:
- Your profile, library, and buddy color data are permanently removed
- Your participation in buddy color groups is removed
- This action cannot be undone

6. Children's Privacy
ColorBuddy is intended for adults (18+) and is designed for adult coloring hobbyists. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information is processed and stored on Supabase infrastructure, which may be located in regions outside your country of residence. By using ColorBuddy, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations. We rely on Supabase's data protection measures to safeguard your information during such transfers.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the app. Your continued use of the app after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
